Karin is Managing Partner at Groth & Co and leads the firm’s Legal and Trademarks Department. She specialises in dispute resolution and litigation relating to intellectual property, marketing law and commercial contracts, and also provides legal advice on negotiations, licensing, infringement matters, trade secrets and due diligence.
She has extensive experience acting as counsel in Swedish and international proceedings, both before courts and in arbitration. Previously, she worked as a lawyer at one of Sweden’s leading law firms and has served at both the Court of Appeal and District Court. Her experience spans a wide range of industries, including media and entertainment, design, fashion, food and beverages, retail, medical technology and manufacturing. Karin is authorised to represent clients in patent infringement and revocation cases before the Nordic-Baltic Regional Division of the Unified Patent Court (UPC).
In her daily work, Karin helps companies develop and implement strategies to protect, manage and commercialise their intellectual assets. She provides strategic advice on trademark and design protection, copyright, marketing law, licensing and infringement management. Combining legal precision with commercial insight, she delivers practical and sustainable solutions that strengthen clients’ competitiveness and long-term business value.
Karin serves on the Board of Directors of Groth & Co and is part of the firm’s management team. She is an active member of several professional associations, including INTA, MARQUES, SFIR, SFU and KMF. Frequently engaged as a lecturer and moderator, she is particularly recognised for her expertise in digital marketing and the regulations governing advertising and influencer collaborations.
Karin has been consistently recognised in international rankings, named IP Star 2023–2025, Practitioner of the Year 2024 and among the Top 250 Women in IP 2024 by Managing Intellectual Property (MIP). She has also been highly ranked in World Trademark Review (WTR) 1000 since 2022 in the Enforcement and Litigation category.
In addition to her consultancy work, Karin is moderator of Varumärkesdagen® and Patentdagen®, where she actively contributes to knowledge sharing and dialogue within the field of intellectual property.
